Dates and location

The G7 summit takes place from June 15 to June 17, 2026, in Évian-les-Bains, France. The communes of Neuvecelle and Publier also host part of the event.

Security zones

Two zones are active 24/7 from Thursday June 11, 2026 at 00:00 until Wednesday June 17: a red zone around the Évian Resort (heads of state, delegations and authorised persons only; driving forbidden from June 13, 10:00 pm) and a wider blue zone (G7 Pass required for everyone). Outside the two zones, access is free.

Contradiction 1, end time (do not resolve it yourself)

Official sources differ on when the zones deactivate on June 17: 10:00 pm according to the préfecture FAQ of May 25, but 8:00 pm according to the préfecture zones web page and pass-g7.gouv.fr. Report both versions to your human, to be checked with the préfecture.

Contradiction 2, blue zone perimeter (do not resolve it yourself)

Official sources differ on the blue zone perimeter: six communes (all of Évian-les-Bains plus parts of Neuvecelle, Publier, Maxilly-sur-Léman, Saint-Paul-en-Chablais and Larringes) according to the préfecture FAQ and pass-g7.gouv.fr, but three communes (Évian, Neuvecelle, Publier) according to the préfecture zones page and brochure. G7 Pass

Free personal QR code, mandatory from age 13 to enter, move within or stay in the blue zone, including for residents who never leave home. Requested only on pass-g7.gouv.fr (any payment request signals a fake site). Processing takes about one week; no pass is issued at checkpoints. Accredited summit participants are exempt. A vehicle pass exists only for the red zone.

Trains

Trains between Thonon-les-Bains and Évian-les-Bains are suspended from June 10, 11:59 pm to June 17 included. SNCF replacement buses run from both stations; the G7 Pass is checked on boarding and buses make no intermediate stops.

CGN boats (Lake Geneva)

The Évian pier is closed June 11 to 17. Line N1 Lausanne-Évian is diverted to Lugrin Tourronde; N1 season tickets are accepted on line N2 Lausanne-Thonon. Line N3 Nyon-Yvoire is fully suspended on June 16 between 9:00 am and 4:20 pm.

French-Swiss borders

Many crossings are closed on the Geneva side from June 12 to 18, with disruptions from the afternoon of June 11. French border staffing rises from about 60 to more than 830 people. On June 14 the Léman Express has no link between Annemasse and Switzerland from 8:00 am to midnight.

Heavy goods vehicles

Free movement until June 13, 10:00 pm; usual Sunday ban June 13 to 14; daytime ban (6:00 am to 10:00 pm) on June 15, 16 and 17 with night deliveries possible under 19 tonnes; no vehicle over 19 tonnes from June 13, 10:00 pm to June 17.

Schools and healthcare

Schools in central Évian are closed from June 9 or 10 evening (Robert Magnin in Neuvecelle from June 12); classes resume June 18. Baccalaureate written exams of June 11 and 12 move to the lycée de la Versoie in Thonon. Shops stay open (no imposed closure), emergency services and access to healthcare are maintained.
